Richard Nixon Presidential Library (NARA)
Nixon White House tapes
Collection · written February 1971 · released 21 August 2013
Why this matters
About 3,700 hours of secretly recorded Oval Office, cabinet and telephone conversations from 1971 to 1973, released in batches over decades with the final segments in 2013. The tapes are online with subject logs but no full transcripts. Hundreds of hours on foreign policy, the economy and daily governance go essentially unheard.
