Project MKULTRA, the CIA's Program of Research in Behavioral Modification (1977 hearing)
Hearing · written 3 August 1977 · released 3 August 1977
Why this matters
The joint Senate hearing held after financial records of MKULTRA, the CIA's mind-control research program, turned up despite the agency's 1973 order to destroy them. It documents drug testing on unwitting subjects and research at universities and prisons. The hearing transcript is the official primary source; most of what circulates online is summary.
