CyberCemetery: websites of defunct U.S. government agencies and commissions

Database · written 1997 · released 1997

Why this matters

Since 1997 the University of North Texas, working with GPO, has archived the websites of federal agencies and commissions after they shut down: the 9/11 Commission, SIGIR and dozens more. When an official site vanishes with its commission, its documents often survive only here. The original graveyard of the federal web.
